Glycoluril–tetrathiafulvalene molecular clips: on the influence of electronic and spatial properties for binding neutral accepting guests
Glycoluril-based molecular clips incorporating tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) sidewalls have been synthesized through different strategies with the aim of investigating the effect of electrochemical and spatial properties for binding neutral accepting guests. We have in particular focused our study on the spacer extension in order to tune the intramolecular TTF···TTF distance within the clip and, con...

He is currently working towards his Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Mohammad Ali Zolfigol at Bu-Ali Sina University. His research interest is the design, synthesis ...
متن کاملAvidin and streptavidin ligands based on the glycoluril bicyclic system.
Glycoluril derivatives with a carboxylic acid side chain have been synthesized and shown to bind to both avidin and streptavidin. Introduction of a valerate side chain in glycoluril led to an increased binding to both proteins only when the valerate group was bound to a N atom and with the proper stereochemistry [(+)-enantiomer]. On the other hand, introduction of the valerate side chain either...
متن کاملThiourea-based molecular clips for fluorescent discrimination of isomeric dicarboxylates.
A new clip-like receptor, which comprises two thiourea-based binding groups and two naphthalene units, has been designed and synthesized as a fluorescent chemosensor for distinguishing o-phthalate from two other isomers of dicarboxylates. Upon the addition of these three ions, the emission intensity at 420 nm (excitation at 340 nm) decreases drastically through PET. When excited at 380 nm, a ne...
متن کاملA transparent photo-responsive organogel based on a glycoluril supergelator.
The synthesis of an azo-benzene glycoluril supergelator is reported. The control over the gel/sol state can be accomplished by irradiation and heat, but also (in a unidirectional sense) by incorporation of the glycoluril into a more stable supramolecular assembly.
